Colonialism has shaped our physical, mental, and personal world.

I feel honored to have been part of the team that developed the campaign for the exhibition ‘Onze Koloniale Erfenis’ on display at Tropenmuseum.

The exhibition demonstrates how colonialism affected the modern world and how individuals overcame oppression, built their own lives, rebelled, and maintained control. This viewpoint was conveyed into three campaign visuals that highlighted pride and resiliency. In front of patterns and textiles that represent old tales, three people from the modern era proudly stand. Colonialism is still a current issue. Our current is founded in our past, which is colonialism.
